RETICULATED CIRCLES
These are a lovely pair of reticulated earrings. What does reticulated mean I here you ask! Well, sterling silver is made up of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. The copper is added to strengthen the silver.
By reticulating them I have removed the copper content and left only pure silver so these are approximately 99.9% pure silver. This is done by repeatedly heating the earrings with a torch, almost to melting point. They are then quenched and pickled to clean them. This is then repeated at least 15 times, a lengthy process. It's worth it though as no two effects are ever alike.
They are beautifully simple but elegant. There is also a matching pendant.
They are approximately 10mm in diameter.
All my jewellery is solid silver and I am registered at the Birmingham Assay 0office.
